Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2013A cool and highly restrained nose only grudgingly reveals notes of red and dark currant, freshly turned earth, humus and underbrush. The mid palate is relatively supple and round, indeed refined would not be a stretch to describe the mouth feel though there is no lack of tannic spine and punch on the solidly persistent and more complex finale.
