the majority of this arrangement has the vibraphone carrying the melodic burden of the piece with the marimba providing the rhythmic and harmonic accompaniment

the piano part requires periods of sustained rhythmic intensity in all registers of the instrument

sunlit colors suggested in the original version

to the ending of the prestissimo fourth movement (in which [the ensemble and drumkit] parts are synchronized)
