Timing Chain - BMW N54 Only / MINI Cooper N14 Only (many models check fitment)The timing chain is an integral part of the internal combustion engine. As a connecting piece between the crankshaft and the camshaft, it ensures precise synchronisation and often also drives other components. If camshaft and crankshaft are not running synchronously, the engine power is greatly reduced and errors in engine management can occur. If the timing chain wears a lot, it can skip or even tear. This may result in costly engine damage.
