Finish: Long and smooth with lingering chocolate smothered almonds and oak tannins

Palate: Vanilla and fudge leads to dark chilli chocolate with underlying citrus flavours

these are brilliant and very old style in character

Finish: Medium bodied with sweet smoke

Now rightly seen as a historic bottling that marked a new phase in the growing popularity of single malt whisky around the world

but as an ironic twist the replica whiskies that Macallan created based on the fakes were actually pretty good
